[CASE STUDY] Through Visual Asylum, working closely with SGPA Architecture + Planning and the SDUSD facilities team, Kearny High School is envisioned as Kearny Educational Complex. With a primary focus of highlighting the four autonomous high schools within the campus, wayfinding and signage play a pivotal role guiding guests throughout. Each small school is focused on a college and career pathway which is highlighted in the imagery and graphic treatments.
The top priority was to address the existing campus layout which was confusing to navigate for anyone but staff. In order to guide students, parents, or guests to each of the four schools, an extensive layout of directional signage was conceptualized both inside and out. Work included exterior accent paint scheme, custom pole wraps, custom fences, signage system; exterior facade graphic panels, directional wayfinding, placemaking signage, hallway graphics.
