Ethnotes

Ethnotes is a unique compilation of diverse music that introduces the listener to the world’s cultures. Combining illustration, packaging and storytelling, this product is aimed at culturally creative women age 20-35 who want to stretch their musical horizons or escape to another place through music. Each of the illustrations was first hand drawn with a simplistic, geometric style with a collage of subject matter that represented an ethnically rich, genre. The artful logo fuses together the three music styles to form a unique mark that works across all genres.
The packaging is designed as an experience, from the use of materials and attention to detail to the layering. The exterior slipcase is printed and wrapped with canvas while the interior is lined with handmade paper. First revealing a vinyl record within a colorful slip case, once removed, the interior case reveals a one of a kind handmade coptic-bound journal and accompanying pen.
